Matt Birney - Welcome to Bulls N' Bears, brought to you today by antimony and rare earths developer, Locksley Resources
Matt Birney - ASX code: LKY
Matt Birney - I'm Matt Birney, and I'm joined now by the chairman of Locksley Resources, Nathan Lude.
Matt Birney - Hi, Nath.
Nathan Lude - Hi, Matt.
Matt Birney - Okay, Nathan. So, in the US there are, there's only literally one rare earths mine known as Mountain Pass in California and somehow its wider tenement package completely envelops one of your tenements and you've got another one butted right up against its eastern border. What evidence have you got that there might also be rare earths on your ground?
Nathan Lude - There's a high-grade carbonatite breccia that outcrops its surface. Surface samples have graded up over 12% TREOs and with the neodymium and praseodymium grading up over 3% and that's primarily what we need for for magnet manufacturing.
Matt Birney - Now I know there's an old antimony mine on your ground and Locksley is still picking up surface expressions of antimony on that prospect. What are some of the highest grades in that sample package and roughly how many have you picked up with colour in them?
Nathan Lude - The antimony mine historically produced in the early 1900s via surface adits and also trenching. We've seen grades from surface samplings up over 46% antimony which is significant.
Matt Birney - Now, I know the Trump-led White House is feverish about trying to secure US supplies of critical minerals, and they've even announced recently a billion dollar funding program for people involved in it. How does little old Locksley Resources in Australia get a piece of that billion dollars?
Nathan Lude - We've appointed specialist advisers out of Washington DC called GreenMet. They're ex White House staffers and we're currently preparing a white paper for submission to the government and we think we're perfectly positioned given our focus from mine to market for antimony.
Matt Birney - Now I know Locksley's also formed a partnership in the US with Rice University that will look at, I think innovative ways of processing antimony for you. Firstly, why Rice? What do they bring to the table and what will they do for you?
Nathan Lude - Rice are very well known in the US for technologies and advancements for industry. There are currently no new smelters in the US for antimony processing. Traditionally, it's done offshore and we're working with Rice on an alternative processing measure.
Matt Birney - And I see your share price has gone from 2 cents to 30 cents in the last few months. So, you must be doing something right.
Matt Birney - Nathan Lude from Locksley Resources.
Matt Birney - Thanks for joining me on Bulls N' Bears and remember we're only here to give you information, not advice, which you should of course seek independently.
Matt Birney - I'm Matt Birney and this is Bulls N' Bears.
