True North Copper is hunting for copper and gold in the Mt Isa region of Queensland. The company owns a small plant that is capable of mining the oxide zones around its Cloncurry copper-gold ground and further north its Mt Oxide project already has a significant copper cobalt resource at its Vero deposit. But today, all eyes are on the new Aquila discovery nearby where the latest drilling has just returned possible one of the best copper intercepts seen in Australia this year.

Matt Birney - I'm Matt Birney, and I'm joined now by the Managing Director of True North Copper, Andrew Mooney.
Matt Birney - Hi, Andrew.
Andrew Mooney - G'day there.
Matt Birney - Okay, so True North Copper is hunting for copper and gold in the Mt Isa region of Queensland. The company owns a small plant that is capable of mining the oxide zones around its Cloncurry copper-gold ground and further north, its Mt Oxide project already has a significant copper cobalt resource at its Vero deposit. But today, all eyes are on the new Aquila discovery nearby at Mt Oxide where the latest drilling has just returned possibly one of the best copper intercepts seen in Australia this year.
Matt Birney - Okay, Andrew. So, part of Mt Oxide is this exciting new Aquila discovery. When did you discover it and what are the numbers from that discovery hole?
Andrew Mooney - So we discovered Aquila back in July with 145 m at 75% copper with a high-grade zone in that of 53 m at 1.2% copper.
Matt Birney - All right, so it looks like you've just backed up those numbers well and truly with some killer intersections that are making Aquila look like a potential company maker. What are the best numbers from this latest drilling campaign at Aquila?
Andrew Mooney - So the headline for Aquila is that we've just found 7 m at 7.9% copper, which is great. But it's also within a hole that had 59 m at 1.77% copper. So when we're looking at things that can be a mine maker, this is what we need to find.
Matt Birney - Now, just north of that hole, I see you put down another one. How did that one go?
Andrew Mooney - Yeah. So, what we're looking to do is continue the strike of the deposit. What we found here is 23 m at 1% copper. But the big thing about this is it actually extends from the discovery hole to our northern hole, 700 meters. So we're starting to grow along strike with it being open to the north and at depth.
Matt Birney - Now that 7 m intersection going almost 8% copper is fascinating. Do you think that's an isolated pod or there likely more of those high-grade shoots lurking around down there?
Andrew Mooney - Yeah. So we think this 7 m is probably the second high-grade shoot that we found and we're looking to back it up with drilling in the new year, to extend the strike and also find more high-grade shoots.
Matt Birney - Now to the south of Mt Oxide, you own a plant that's capable of processing copper and gold from your Cloncurry project. Very quickly, when are you likely to make some money out of that plant at Cloncurry?
Andrew Mooney - So, we're putting out a update on our study for Cloncurry copper project in the next few weeks with a potential restart in 2027.
Matt Birney - And when when will we see some more numbers out of Aquila?
Andrew Mooney - So, we've released probably half our results so far and we've got additional drill hole assays coming over the next two to four weeks and then we'll be back up and drilling in the new year.
