Dynamic Metals (ASX: DYM) has boosted its footprint in Western Australia’s prolific Ora Banda gold district after being granted two new exploration licences for the Lady Jane gold project, increasing its landholding to 100 square kilometres.
The move comes as the company keeps several exploration balls in the air, lodging a key access plan to get boots on the ground at its strategically significant Meentheena fluorspar project in the Pilbara while sharpening up a fresh batch of gold targets at Widgiemooltha, 100km south of Kalgoorlie.
Dynamic's expanded gold exploration push looks timely, with bullion prices remaining robust after hitting record highs earlier in the year, keeping capital and technical attention firmly focused on the West Australian gold patch.
Management says field activities are already underway across the expanded Lady Jane tenure, which lies in a well-endowed region dotted with established gold mining operations and infrastructure. The current work program is focused on crunching the geological dataset to identify and prioritise areas for follow-up exploration.
Meanwhile, the company is progressing its Meentheena project, 300 kilometres southeast of Port Hedland, by submitting a Reserve Access Management Plan (RAMP). The submission is a critical step in the approvals process required before on-ground exploration can kick off within the reserve areas.
The project’s strategic appeal is underscored by the fact Meentheena is one of only six known fluorite deposits identified by Geoscience Australia. The RAMP submission follows preliminary flora and fauna surveys which the company says identified no major environmental issues.
Dynamic continues to make progress across its Western Australian portfolio, with field activities underway at Lady Jane, access approvals progressing at the Meentheena Fluorspar Project, and a broader review of the gold potential across Widgiemooltha. The recent grant of additional tenure at Lady Jane strengthens our position in the Ora Banda district and provides further ground for our team to evaluate as part of the ongoing exploration program. The work at Lady Jane and Meentheena comes on the heels of a savvy shift in portfolio management at its flagship Widgiemooltha project. Earlier this month, Dynamic executed a deal to divest non-core gold assets to Corazon Mining for milestone payments of up to $3.5 million plus a 1.5 per cent net smelter royalty over any future gold production.
Following the divestment, Dynamic has launched a project-wide gold targeting program across its remaining 800 square kilometres of Widgiemooltha tenure. The review will blend extensive geological, geochemical and drilling data, including intel from recent drilling at its Cognac West prospect, to identify and rank the next generation of priority gold targets.
The Widgiemooltha project is also prospective for lithium, with mining behemoth Mineral Resources progressing exploration activities under a joint venture agreement. Recent work by MinRes has included the compilation of gravity datasets, field mapping and the acquisition of high-resolution multispectral satellite imagery across most of the company's tenure.
MinRes has also outlined a future program of soil sampling, further mapping and requisite environmental and heritage surveys ahead of potential drilling.
With its exploration programs moving forward on three distinct fronts, Dynamic appears to be building out a pipeline of compelling opportunities. The expansion at Lady Jane gives it a larger slice of a premier gold district, while the progress at the rare Meentheena project could unlock a different type of value. Add to that a systematic re-evaluation of its core Widgiemooltha ground, and the company looks set for a busy period of news flow.
