Warriedar gets boots on ground to zero in on targets

Warriedar Resources has kicked off ground electromagnetic (EM) surveying to refine potential targets at its Fields Find and Golden Range projects in WA’s Murchison region, following two separate airborne EM surveys.

The latest work will focus on six targets identified by an EM survey earlier this year on the western side of Fields Find and two targets highlighted in a 2014 EM survey at the southern part of Golden Range.

With the completion of its preliminary analysis of the two previous surveys, Warriedar says it now has EM coverage across 60 per cent of its 810 square kilometres of tenements.

The fresh data will be collected using a fixed loop EM configuration, based on well constrained filament modelling using the previously-collected data. From this, the explorer will aim to prioritise and optimise drill-targeting at its base metal and gold targets.

Management argues that ground EM data is traditionally collected prior to drilling to allow the geometry of the subsurface conductor to be better understood, increasing the chances of a successful drilling campaign. That fieldwork program is scheduled to take a fortnight to complete.

The company’s WA holding extends for more than 70km of strike from north to south and covers the central majority of the Yalgoo-Singleton and Warriedar Archean greenstone belts. It believes the two key projects are prospective for significant massive sulphide deposits.

In March, Warriedar revealed it was focusing on gold with a 5000m RC campaign at its Baron prospect by sending a second rig to Fields Find. It affectionately refers to the project as its “polymetallic enigma”, due to the site containing elevated levels of nickel, copper and gold.

At Golden Range, the world-class Golden Grove volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits are just 3km from Warriedar’s leases and the mineralisation host rock sequence extends into the company’s ground.

Just this month, the company completed its drilling of 35 RC holes at Golden Range, with an initial focus on its Windinne Well and Austin deposits before moving on to its Mugs Luck prospect. The explorer has two RC rigs drilling existing gold targets across the projects as part of its massive 40,000m campaign and assays are expected later this month.

Warriedar currently has 4752 samples awaiting assay analysis at the lab, with a priority order placed on the first set of holes from its drilling program at the company’s Rothschild prospect on the eastern side of Fields Find.
